Taco Bell celebrates 4 years of #livemas in Romania

The first Taco Bell restaurant in Romania was inaugurated in 2017, within Băneasa Shopping City in Bucharest. The launch also marked the entry of the Southern California brand in Central and Eastern Europe, being the first Taco Bell restaurant within a radius of 1,028 kilometers in the region. Taco Bell is part of the Yum! Brands and is the world’s leading chain of quick service restaurants (QSRs) offering Mexican-inspired products.

In the 4 years, Taco Bell has so far opened 13 restaurants nationwide, in 9 cities: 4 in Bucharest, 2 in Brasov and one each in Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Timisoara, Ploiesti, Constanta, Bacau and Iasi. The unique products entered the consumption preferences of Romanians who quickly became #tacofans, embracing the #livemas spirit of the brand and enjoying the diversified and customizable product portfolio.

Over time, over 8 million customers have stepped on the doorstep of restaurants to enjoy #tacogoodies and that unique experience that no other restaurant can offer, for product innovation and the unmistakable taste of Taco Bell. #tacofans can enjoy a diverse range of products such as the iconic taco, Crunchwrap, Quesadilla or Burrito, with the ability to customize their order according to their style and personality (type of meat, choice of sauce or product combinations).

Taco is the most beloved product locally, with over 2 million pieces sold in the 4 years of existence on the local market.

This year, on October 4, Taco Bell Romania joined the global campaign to celebrate the International Day of the core product in the portfolio – the famous taco. All the #tacofans who sent a taco-shaped emoji after scanning a dedicated QR code received a taco from the house. In this international challenge, Taco Bell Romania ranked second globally (outside the US) in the number of emoji sent, some of them turning into a real taco.

This year, as a natural development at business level, but also as an adaptation to the new socio-sanitary context, Taco Bell launched the Click & Collect platform. A very simple and efficient way for #tacofans to order their #tacogoodies from their phone or computer, wherever they are, by picking up products from the nearest restaurant. Also, in 5 Taco Bell restaurants there are digital kiosks that facilitate the ordering process, smoothing the traffic in the locations. In addition, the brand is preparing a loyalty platform dedicated to Taco Bell fans, which will be launched soon.
